Teacup Mosaic Class ☕️

Ready to turn a teacup into something truly unforgettable? This class blends creativity, color, and just the right amount of challenge to create a floral mosaic you’ll be proud to display. We’ll transform a vintage-style teacup into a blooming arrangement set inside an 8” x 10” frame—equal parts art piece and conversation starter. This class is a good introduction to mosaics and will include new techniques to those with basic mosaic experience who want to level up a bit.

This class is taught over 2 four-hour sessions in my Austin, Texas studio.  

Session One (8 am - noon): Design & Build You’ll start by choosing your teacup (I’ll have a curated selection ready for you) along with a thoughtfully paired color palette designed to make your piece shine. From there, I’ll walk you through the entire process—how the teacups are prepped, how to approach your layout, and how to build a beautiful mosaic background with confidence. Feeling unsure? No problem. I’ll have finished samples on hand that you’re welcome to reference—or even copy—so you can relax and enjoy the process. 

Session Two (Noon - 4 p.m.): The Magic Moment (aka Grouting Day) This is where everything comes together. We’ll dive into grout—what we’re using, why it works so well for this project, and how to apply it like a pro. Yes, it gets a little messy… but that’s part of the fun. Once your background is complete, you’ll choose from a selection of glass “flowers” I’ve created, then I’ll guide you through attaching your teacup and finishing your piece with those final, eye-catching details. 

By the end of our two half-day sessions, you’ll walk away with a one-of-a-kind mosaic that’s equal parts whimsical and elegant—and something you’ll love for years to come. Grab your spot, bring your creativity, and let’s make something beautiful. ✨

What to bring: An apron, a particulate mask, wheeled mosaic nippers and Something to transport your finished piece home. I'll provide everything else!
